Center for Library and Informatics

The scientists, historians, informaticians, and librarians of the Center for Library (CLI) and Informatics endeavor to revolutionize access to biological knowledge.  Founded in 2010, the CLI pursues leading edge biodiversity informatics research, creates innovative techniques for contextualizing the life sciences, and develops shared repositories, tools, and standards to facilitate access to scientific data.  We are actively engaged in multi-institutional research collaborations that include the MBLWHOI Library, Data Conservancy, Embryo Project, History of MBL, Global Names, Biodiversity Heritage Library and the Encyclopedia of Life.
