Work with terrestrial and aquatic scientists in a wide variety of ecosystems ranging from the streams, lakes, and tundra of the Alaskan Arctic, to sediments of Massachusetts salt marshes and coastal bays, to the forests of New England and the Amazon of South America. Examine ecosystem biogeochemistry, and the role of both microbes and animals in ecosystem process. Link field data to mathematical models of ecosystem processes to address climate and environmental change and ecosystem conservation
