04/05/06 Program in Molecular Physiology Seminars - "Modulation of the cold receptor, TRPM8" - Maria Gomez, Boston University - "Smelling light: A third light-transduction scheme revealed by molluscan ciliary photoreceptors" - Enrico Nasi, Boston University - 12:00 noon, MRC 210 - Enrico and Maria are long time visiting investigators to the MBL where they have worked for some years on the biophysics and biology behind invertebrate and vertebrate vision. They are based at BU and now wish to establish a formal connection with the MBL Resident Program. Enrico and Maria will be here for the day. Please contact Peter Smith if you would like to meet with them while they are here.

  Science Facts & Fictions: Family Movies at the MBL - The MBL Associates invite families to join them for a fun-filled afternoon of science facts and fictions, 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM in the MBL's Lillie Auditorium on MBL Street, Woods Hole. MBL senior scientist Dr. Roger Hanlon, an expert on cephalopods (squid, octopus, cuttlefish) will present a short talk about the real life of these amazing marine animals. Dr. Hanlon's talk will be followed by a showing of Walt Disney's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, the movie remake of Jules Verne's classic novel. Admission is free.
