John Hobbie, Distinguished Scientist and Senior Scholar, MBL Ecosystems Center

John Hobbie is the co-author of Land of Extremes, A Natural History of the Arctic North Slope of Alaska, a comprehensive guide to the natural history of the only arctic tundra in the United States. Hobbie and co-author Alex Huryn, both long-time principal investigators at Arctic Long Term Ecological Research project at Toolik Lake, reveal the arctic tundra as an ecosystem teeming with life.
