Mario has been a soloist with the Empire State Pops Orchestra and the Kunming, China Symphony Orchestra.
Together, Mary and Mario make up a world-class duo. Their international performances have taken them individually and together to England, Switzerland, China, France, Italy, and Quebec, Canada. Mary and Mario were chosen to represent the United States in an International Festival of the Arts held in China in 1999. They returned to China for a concert tour in 2003. Together they have eight CDs to their credit, the latest being Marys collection of her favorite Italian love songs and Arias Canzoni dal Cuore and Marios Accordion Unlimited.
For this performance, Mary and Mario will be joined by special guest Douglas Song, one of the most celebrated vocalists in China. For years, he has performed throughout China and has won first prize in several competitions. In 1993, Douglas came to the U.S. as a visiting voice teacher at Mississippi State University, and in 1995 received special permission from the U.S. Government to immigrate to America. During his stay here, he has held concerts featuring the Italian Classic songs, and has performed as a leading tenor in Handels Messiah. Tenor Luciano Pavarotti has been quoted as saying Mr. Song is a distinguished tenor with a great future! In addition to his singing career, Douglas also serves as the Vice-Chairman of the U.S.-China Cultural and Educational Foundation.
