The application deadline for 2017 has passed. Check this page on November 2017 for the application deadline for FIR2018.

Applications are reviewed by an admissions committee and applicants are notified of the decision made (admit, deny, or wait list) by the end of February. Tuition and Room and Board for FIR2017 are not yet known but for FIR2016 they were $5,950 and $3010.35, respectively (Total cost = $8960.35). Due to the generosity of our funding agencies, however, FIR is able to provide a substantial amount of financial assistance. Financial assistance is granted on the basis of need to admitted participants, regardless of nationality. Ultimately the cost of attending FIR should be a two-way commitment between the student’s home institution and FIR and we expect applicants to discuss the cost of attendance with their home department or lab, and to request and secure some funding to attend FIR2017.

Candidates wishing to be considered for assistance must complete the Financial Aid Information Section of the Admissions Application. Financial Aid awards information is included with admissions notifications. Applying for financial assistance will NOT affect your opportunity for admission to FIR. Scholarship requests are NOT a factor in admissions decisions.
