William Reznikoff

Director of Education

William ReznikoffDr. William Reznikoff is the MBL’s Director of Education. He is a senior research scientist at the MBL’s Bay Paul Center in Comparative Molecular Biology and Evolution where his research interests are in the area of bacterial and molecular genetics. He was formerly the MBL’s acting Chief Academic and Scientific Officer between 2007 and 2008. The MBL Education Program encompasses a broad range of students, from high-school biology teachers to postdoctoral scientists and university faculty. The laboratory’s intensive summer courses are world-renowned, and attract graduate and postdoctoral students from around the world. Dr. Reznikoff received a B.A. in Biology from Williams College and a Ph.D. in Biology from The Johns Hopkins University. He was appointed an MBL senior research scientist in 2007, after nearly four decades as a professor in the Department of Biochemistry at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he currently holds the position of Professor Emeritus. He is a member of both the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the American Academy of Microbiology.
