Jocelyn Malamy

Jocelyn Malamy is the MBL’s Interim Director of the Division of Education. Dr. Malamy is an Associate Professor in the Department of Molecular Genetics and Cell Biology, Master of the Biological Sciences Collegiate Division, and Deputy Dean, BSD at the University of Chicago. Over the last 5 years, she has participated in both MBL research and education programs. As a Whitman Center Scientist, she has conducted research on regeneration and wound healing in the C. hemisphaerica jellyfish. As the Master of the Biological Sciences Collegiate Division at the University of Chicago, she has worked with the MBL education team to develop the UChicago “September Courses” which bring undergraduates to the MBL for intensive, three-week courses designed for students with a strong interest in research. Dr. Malamy received a B.S. in Biology from Tufts University and a Ph.D. in Microbiology from the University of New Jersey.
