July 2, 7:00 PM:
Rainforest Reptile Show - Learn about alligators, turtles and snakes from the world’s neo-tropical to sub-tropical rainforests. Meet and greet the scaley “stars” of the show at its conclusion. July 28th:
“Sea Songs and Stories” with Jackson Gillman – Join Jackson Gillman for a rollicking mix of song, movement, and story that is guaranteed to delight and enchant you. Jackson magically transforms himself into a wide array of eccentric characters through his many talents as mime, actor, songsmith, and storyteller. For this show, he will draw on his fishy repertoire from the sandy beach and the briney deep. An entertaining event for all ages. For more information, please visit www.JacksonGillman.com. August 6:
Ice Cream Social and Children’s Games - Drop by the MBL Club for some delicious ice cream and have fun participating in a variety of children’s games! These games may include a water balloon toss, a three-legged race, an egg on a spoon race, a human wheelbarrow race, duck duck goose, blob tag, and others. For members only!

July & August:
"Coastal Explorers" Seashore Science Course:
Join our experienced Montessori educators for a two-day seashore adventure at the renowned Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole this summer. Children ages 4, 5, and 6 are invited to explore the Woods Hole coastline, learn about native species of fish and invertebrates at the Woods Hole Science Aquarium and MBL Marine Resources Center, and participate in related hands-on art projects and musical activities. New this year, Coastal Explorers Part II, is designed for children who have completed Part I and will provide a more in-depth exploration of our coastal environment.

About our instructors:

Loesje Creeden, lead instructor, is fascinated by the marine environment and has been teaching at both the pre-primary and elementary levels for more than 30 years. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Notre Dame College in New Hampshire, and has studied at the post graduate level at several universities. Loesje is a certified teacher in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire. In recent years she has devoted herself to Montessori education, and is fully trained and certified in early childhood education by the American Montessori Society. She is certified at the Director II level by the Department of Early Education and Care and currently teaches pre-primary and kindergarten at the Bridgeview School in Bourne, MA.

Christine Looney, assistant instructor, graduated from Westfield State College with a bachelor's degree in elementary education and liberal studies. She has previously worked as a preschool teacher at the Stepping Stones Too Child Care Center in Cotuit, MA and in education support for 7th and 8th grade special education at the Forestdale Elementary School in Sandwich, MA. She is presently teaching students in grades 4 to 6 at the Bridgeview Montessori School in Bourne, MA.

Monday, July 21 and Tuesday, July 22
Tuesday, August 5 and Thursday, August 7

Part II (designed for kids who have completed Part I - a more in-depth exploration of seashore life) will be held:
Wednesday, July 23 and Thursday, July 24
