Marine Ecotoxicology (June 8, 2003 - June 28, 2003)

Application Deadline: open

Recommended for: advanced undergraduates and graduate students

The three-week course focuses on current issues in marine ecotoxicology, assessing the impacts of anthropogenic substances using a wide range of chemical and bioassay analyses. Students perform chemical analyses and marine microscale bioassays on samples they collect from three near-shore environments. Results are reported and discussed in the overall context of performing ecological risk management decisions and assessing the biological effects resulting from organisms exposed to anthropogenic compounds.
