It is with sadness that we announce the passing of former MBL employee Doris Davis on June 16, 2011. Doris worked for many years in the Accounts Receivable office. The following obituary appeared in the Falmouth Enterprise:
Doris C. (Jacques) Davis, 80, of Falmouth died at home after a long battle with multiple myeloma. She was the wife of Donald W. Davis, who died in February 1979.
Mrs. Davis was born in Lawrence, the daughter of Rene and Eva (Chabot) Jacques. She graduated from Sacred Heart in Methuen and Burroughs Business School in Boston.
Mrs. Davis worked for 18 years in the business department of the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, retiring in 1995. She enjoyed watching the boats at Falmouth Harbor, reading mystery novels and following the Boston Red Sox.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Craig Steven Davis; and her three siblings, Alcide Jacques of New Hampshire. Roland Jacques of Florida and Claire Duschene of Maine.
She leaves a son and daughter-in-law, Mark A. Davis and Brenda M. Westgate of Falmouth, who took care of her at the end of her life; two grandchildren, Megan and Adam Davis; and many nieces and nephews.
