It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Edward A. Adelberg, MBL Trustee Emeritus and Corporation life member, who also served as an instructor in the Physiology course. According to his son Arthur, Dr. Adelberg died on August 8. He was a longtime professor at Yale University, whose research interests included genetics, membranes and growth control. Dr. Adelberg held many leadership positions at Yale, including Chairman of the Microbiology Department, Director of Biological Sciences, and Deputy Provost for the Biomedical Sciences. He was also a member of numerous honorific societies, including the American Society for Microbiology, the Genetics Society of America, AAAS, the American Society of Biological Sciences, the National Academy of Sciences, and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
The MBL flag will be lowered in Dr. Adelberg’s memory.
