We have used CamAcqJ with QImaging's monochrome Firewire/1394 cameras:

Other QImaging cameras that work with the QCam SDK may work as well.

(Color cameras are not support, though if someone is interested in adding this support in the JNI code, I'll gladly collaborate.)
