I am working on the Great Barrier Reef, Australia using behavioral assays and population genetics to determine how olfactory preferences of settling reef fish larvae effect dispersal. I am especially interested in understanding how these olfactory preferences are formed and how stable they are over time. Embryonic olfactory imprinting may play a key role in preference formation; I am using Amphiprion anemonefish to investigate this process.
