In an effort to utilize the new affiliation between UChicago and MBL to enhance research and teaching, the Faculty Advisory Committee announces a new program for recent Ph.D. and/or M.D. graduates: The MBL-UChicago Scholars Program.
We seek applicants of great promise in any discipline related to the MBL-UChicago affiliation including, but not limited to: computation, genomics, developmental biology, ecology and ecosystems research, evolutionary biology, history and philosophy of science, imaging, microbial biology, quantitative biology, neurobiology, regenerative biology. Fellows would be expected to work with faculty both at the MBL (visiting or full time) and UChicago and execute research that is enhanced by the affiliation among the institutions.
Fellows will be appointed for a two-year term.
Application Materials: 1. Biographical Information (a recent CV and two relevant publications); 2. Two references ; 3. Research Statement: 1,500 word maximum statement on the goals and methods of the research to be pursued during the fellowship; 4. Statements from UChicago and MBL Faculty Mentors: These letters should describe the support provided for the research, the career mentoring and advising that will be provided, a training plan outlining how the progress of the fellow will be assessed, and importance for the resources of the UChicago-MBL affiliation for the success of this project.
Support includes a stipend with a range $42,000-$55,000 depending on years of experience, and a travel and housing allowance of $10,000.
