Press Release

Please join us! The Marine Biological Laboratory (MBL) Associates in partnership with the West Falmouth Library invite you to a Coffee & Conversation featuring the Encyclopedia of Life project.

Launched in 2007, the Encyclopedia of Life (EOL) is a monumental, unprecedented effort to create a Web page for all 1.8 million named species of animals, plants, and other forms of life on Eearth. The EOL will serve as a global biodiversity tool that will transform the science of biology. The MBL is a cornerstone institution in this historic effort.

MBL scientist David Patterson who heads the EOL’s Biodiversity Informatics Group will discuss this innovative project he helped to create. Please join us at the West Falmouth Library on Sunday, April 13th at 4 PM and in the meantime check out the EOL website. For more information about this event contact the MBL Aassociates Office, 508-289-7281 or sjoslin@mbl.edu.
