Steven Zottoli Joins the Bell Center

May 6th, 2013 @   -

The faculty and staff of the Eugene Bell Center for Regenerative Biology & Tissue Engineering welcome Dr. Steven Zottoli, Howard B. Schow ’50 Professor of Biology at Williams College, as Adjunct Senior Scientist.

SteveDr. Zottoli’s main research question is: after complete damage to their spinal cords, mammalian vertebrates do not regain function below the wound site. In contrast, after an equivalent injury, non-mammalian vertebrates (e.g., fish and amphibians) are capable of recovery. What is the neuronal basis of this recovery?
