Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the MBL has been and will continue to follow the instruction of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as it relates to out of state travel.
Effective August 1, 2020, a Commonwealth of Massachusetts travel order requires visitors and returning residents entering Massachusetts to complete a travel form and acknowledge that they will quarantine for 14 days or produce a negative test result from an FDA EUA-approved molecular (PCR) SARS-CoV2 test, on a sample obtained 72 hours or less prior to arrival in Massachusetts.
The new rules exempt travelers from states where both the average number of new cases and the percentage of positive tests are low as determined by the MA Department of Public Health. View state exemption list here.
Anyone who has traveled to an area with reported community spread and has developed respiratory symptoms including fever, cough, and difficulty breathing should stay home except to get medical care.
