Message to Alumni
August 27, 2026
Dear MBL Alumni Community,
It has been an exciting summer for the MBL Alumni Association, and we are grateful for the many ways our alumni have continued to connect with one another and with the MBL at large.
What continues to amaze me, in every conversation I have with alumni, is how much the MBL has stuck with them—how a summer here reshaped the course of their careers, their science, and even the way they think. That thread ran through every gathering this summer, from Woods Hole to San Francisco to Las Vegas. Read more about this summer's alumni gatherings here.
And we’re just getting started.
Looking ahead, we’re excited to bring alumni together for a fall gathering at Lamplighter Brewing Co. - Cambridge Crossing on Thursday, October 29, 2026 from 5:30–7:30pm. RSVP here to join us for an evening of reconnecting with fellow members of the MBL community.
We’re also beginning to plan an Alumni Weekend in Woods Hole for Fall 2027, and we want our alumni to help shape the experience. Take our brief Alumni Weekend survey to share your interest and let us know what you’d most like to see as part of the weekend.
As the MBL Alumni Association continues to grow, we hope to create even more opportunities for alumni to reconnect with the MBL, with former classmates and colleagues, and with one another. There are plenty of ways to stay connected in the meantime. I encourage you to join the MBL Alumni LinkedIn Group, keep an eye out for upcoming alumni communications and events, and share your own updates with us—we want to hear what you are doing now.
Thank you to everyone who has joined us at an event, connected with us online, or helped spread the word about the Alumni Association. Whether your connection to MBL began through a course, research experience, employment, or collaboration, you are part of the MBL alumni community—and we hope you’ll continue to stay connected.
We look forward to continuing to build this community and to seeing many more of you in the months and years ahead.
Warmly,
Eva Ricci

Dear MBL Alumni Community,
Since the launch of the MBL Alumni Association in June 2025, we’ve been laying the groundwork for a more connected and engaged alumni community. While we are still in the early stages, we are excited about what’s ahead and grateful to those who have already begun to engage with us, particularly through our growing MBL Alumni LinkedIn Group. This alumni hub has quickly become an important space for connection, conversation, and opportunity.
Our focus moving forward is on building meaningful connections. Through alumni spotlights, future programming, events, and ongoing communications like this newsletter, we hope to create ways for every alum to stay informed, involved, and connected to the MBL.
As we continue to grow, flexible resources play an important role in helping us respond to emerging opportunities—whether that’s enhancing student experiences, supporting innovative programming, or strengthening alumni engagement efforts. Unrestricted support provides the MBL with the flexibility to address evolving priorities and emerging opportunities as they arise. Thank you for staying connected and for being part of this exciting new chapter for the MBL Alumni Association. We look forward to building what comes next together.
Warmly,
The MBL Alumni Relations Team
