Training
While MBL has always been a leading research center for the training of experimental biologists, where world-renowned scientists have taught through example for over a century, federal regulations now require that the training of ethical scientific conduct be a more formalized part of biomedical research programs. Training covers nine critical components:
- research misconduct
- data acquisition
- publication practices
- conflict of interest
- mentor/trainee responsibility
- peer review
- collaborative science
- animal welfare
- human subjects
MBL partners with the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) at the University of Miami to offer one of the best on-line training programs available, currently subscribed to by thousands of academic institutions, government agencies, and commercial organizations worldwide.
