"Groovy BSO Chamber Ensemble" Boston Cello Quartet To Perform at the MBL, September 30

MBL, Woods Hole, MA – The Boston Cello Quartet will perform at the MBL (Marine Biological Laboratory) on Sunday, September 30 at 4:00 PM in the Lillie Auditorium, 7 MBL Street, Woods Hole. Click here for details on the evening's program.
Founded in 2010 by four cellists of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Quartet performs a wide repertoire ranging from classical music, to jazz, tango, contemporary works, and comic medleys and has been hailed as the "The Groovy BSO Chamber Ensemble" by The Boston Globe.

All profits from the concert will support the MBL Falmouth Forum, an annual series of lectures and performances in the arts and humanities sponsored by the MBL Associates and offered free of charge to the Cape Cod community.
The members of the Boston Cello Quartet—Blaise Dejardin, Adam Esbensen, Mihail Jojatu and Alexandre Lecarme—are originally from France, Romania, and the United States, and met in 2008 when three of them joined the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
Captivating classical and rock audiences alike, the Quartet has enjoyed considerable success since their debut concert at Tanglewood in July 2010, which was described by The Berkshire Eagle as “The best Prelude Concert at Ozawa Hall since the hall was built” (in 1994). In 2011, the Quartet opened for the Grammy Award-winning band “Train" at the Koussevitzky Music Shed at Tanglewood.
The Quartet recently partnered with composer Olivier Deriviere to record the soundtrack of the videogame “Of Orcs and Men,” available Fall 2012 on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. The Quartet’s first CD album is anticipated by Winter 2012.
