It's almost here! The total solar eclipse of 2024 will be visible with 88.8% totality in Woods Hole on Monday, April 8. The eclipse will begin at 2:16 PM, peak at 3:29 PM, and conclude at 4:39 PM.

MBL-ers spontaneously gathered on the MBL Quad to view the 2017 eclipse, bringing all kinds of homemade eclipse viewers. Here's a post on it for inspiration! If you have nothing on hand, you can lattice your fingers and project images of the eclipse on the ground. You must not look directly at the sun during an eclipse. More info on safe eclipse viewing from NASA is here.

Happy eclipse viewing!
