The Marine Biological Laboratory is saddened to share the passing of Ann Weissmann, a longtime member of the MBL community, who died on August 14, 2026. The MBL flag will be lowered in her memory.

Weissmann was a curator of the Rare Books Collection in the MBL/WHOI Library and led adult exercise classes at the MBL Club for over 25 years. She also created an Arts and Science program and produced 10 exhibitions, installed in the Meigs Room at Swope. Her most recent exhibition celebrated the 125th anniversary of the MBL.

We extend our condolences to Ann Weissmann’s family, friends, colleagues, and the many MBL community members whose lives she touched throughout time in Woods Hole.
