Colin S. Izzard

With sadness, we share news of the passing of Dr. Colin S. Izzard, a longtime member of the MBL community, on March 4, 2026.

Dr. Izzard earned a PhD in Biological Science from Cambridge University and served as faculty at SUNY Albany.

He served as the director of Optical Microscopy & Imaging in the Biological Sciences at the MBL for over 20 years and was the course director for Optical Microscopy (1998-2005). He was also an MBL Society Member.
