With sadness we share the passing of MBL Trustee Emeritus Dr. Seymour Cohen, who died December 30, 2018 at the age of 101.
Dr. Cohen was a long-time member of the MBL community and a Woods Hole resident. In addition to serving as a Trustee, Dr. Cohen was a faculty member in the Physiology course, a Whitman Scientist, and a Society Emeritus member. He was a member of the National Academy of Sciences and a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences among other professional organizations. He received numerous awards throughout his career.
The MBL flag will be lowered to half-mast in Dr. Cohen’s memory. A graveside service was held on January 2, 2019 at the Church of the Messiah cemetery in Woods Hole. A celebration of Dr. Cohen’s life will be held next summer in Woods Hole.
