Thomas J. Trott

With sadness, the Marine Biological Laboratory notes the passing of Dr. Thomas J. Trott, a longtime member of the MBL community, on January 13, 2026.

Dr. Trott received degrees in biology from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth (BS), Wake Forest University in North Carolina (MA), and the Boston University Marine Program, based at the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, Massachusetts (PhD, 1990).

His association with MBL included participation in the Behavior course in the 1970s and the Embryology Course, Class of 1982. He later served on course staff for Developmental Biology and the Behavior course in 1981 and 1983.

Dr. Trott became a Society member in 2012 and remained active through 2025.
