An 8-minute video about MBL Senior Scientist Roger Hanlon's research has won one of the most prestigious awards in journalism, an Edward R. Murrow Award for Feature Reporting.

"In the Deep," produced by Erik Olsen of Quartz, follows Hanlon from Woods Hole to the South Pacific as he tests a custom, underwater camera that sees the world as octopus, squid, and cuttlefish do. The research dive is part of Hanlon's career-long quest to understand the incredibly complex camouflage tactics of the cephalopods.
