Morgan Lab Study is One of Most-Read Neuroscience Papers in Scientific Reports

One of the 100 most-read neuroscience papers in Scientific Reports in 2018 was a study led by MBL Associate Scientist Jennifer Morgan, director of the Eugene Bell Center for Regenerative Biology and Tissue Engineering.

Morgan's article, which placed 25th out of more than 1,627 neuroscience papers published, reported that many of the genes involved in regenerating the lamprey spinal cord are also active in repairing the peripheral nervous system in mammals. Morgan collaborated in leading the study with former MBL Whitman Center scientist Ona Bloom of the Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research and the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell.

The editors of Scientific Reports, which is affiliated with the journal Nature, wrote to Morgan, "A position in the top 100 most highly read articles is an extraordinary achievement – your science is of real value to the research community."
